Contacts Dialog

The contacts dialog provides a way to choose contacts from the contacts list. Type a character or search string in the "Search Contacts" text field to narrow the list of available contacts in the left pane.

One or more contacts can be chosen in the dialog by shift or control clicking contacts and clicking the > button. To remove contacts, select one or more contacts on the right list box and click the < button. To add or remove all the contacts in the list, use the >> or << buttons, respectively.

  • << Removes all the contacts.
  • < Remove selected contact(s).
  • > Add selected contact(s).
  • >> Removes all contacts.
  • Remove – Removes the contacts from the field.
  • Save – Saves the contacts field

Date Dialog

The date dialog provides a way to select a date to be included. Select the desired date by selecting the calendar date and choose the time with the appropriate combo boxes. The selected date appears in the upper left corner of the dialog, and the navigation buttons provide a way to go forward or backward one month or one year.

  • << Go back one year.
  • < Go back one month.
  • > Go forward one month.
  • >> Go forward one year.
  • Remove – Removes the date from the field.
  • Save – Adds the date to the field.

Groups Dialog

Groups are a way to group contacts with similar characteristics. They can be used to make contact segmentations in addition to geography based segmentations such as state or zip code. The groups dialog can be used to create new groups or to select from existing groups in the event database.

  • Add new groups – Add a new group name into the text field to add a group to the event list
  • << Removes all the groups.
  • < Remove selected group(s).
  • > Add selected group(s).
  • >> Removes all groups.
  • Remove – Removes the groups from the field.
  • Save – Saves the groups field

Recurring Dialog

The recurring dialog provides a way to repeat events until the chosen end date. Choose to repeat on days, weeks, months or years and enter a valid number in the text field provided. Select a date on the calendar to end the recurring events. The selected date appears in the upper left corner of the dialog, and the navigation buttons provide a way to go forward or backward one month or one year.

  • Repeat every – Enter a valid number in the text field.
  • Period combo box – Choose the repeat interval, one of days, weeks, months or years.
  • << Go back one year.
  • < Go back one month.
  • > Go forward one month.
  • >> Go forward one year.
  • Remove – Removes the recurring instance from the field.
  • Save – Saves the recurring field.

Reminder Dialog

The reminder dialog provides a way to remind the user of an event. Choose to set the reminder on or off via the radio button choice. After a reminder goes off, the event reminder is automatically set to off, which changes the status of the alarm. After dismissing an alarm and closing the Java Contactor, a dialog will prompt to save changes, even if no other task list changes were made. If the task changes are not saved on this prompt, the alarm will ring the next time the Java Contactor is started up again.

  • Remind me – Choose a valid number in the text field.
  • Period combo box – Choose the reminder period, one of minutes, hours, days or weeks
  • Date combo box – Choose the time to set the alarm, e.g. the due date or the start time for a task.
