The Java Contactor is a cross-platform personal information manager, so that it can be used on any computer that has a Java Virtual Machine version 1.4 or later. It is a convenient storage for contacts, tasks and passwords and has many advanced features integrated into each database that makes it an indispensable tool for managing your busy life.

Contact Management

Use Java Contactor to manage your a contact database and free yourself from proprietary and/or platform dependant contact applications. Use the Java Contactor to do all this and more:

• Print Avory-style mail labels using the mail label wizard.
• Email lists of matching contacts via a regular internet email account using the email wizard.
• Print out or export custom lists of contacts to distribute to coworkers or to make a list to use in planning events using the list wizard.
• Rename contact field names to customize for your own needs, for example to change the contact labels to display in your native language.
• Merge your contacts at home and at work so that your contacts are always synced up using the merge wizard.
• Import your current contact list using the import wizard.
• Create groups of contacts using the easy groups dialog.
• Click on Internet URLS in the contact database and automatically launch your web browser to go to the website.

Calendar/Task Management

Use the Java Contactor to schedule events or meetings and handle all your calendar needs. The Java Contactor can do all this and more:

• Store events, meetings, task, events, anniversaries or all-day events in a familiar calendar motif.
• Merge your calendar events at home and at work so that your tasks are always synced up using the merge wizard.
• Set alarms and reminders to remind you of upcoming events by setting up reminders.
• Easily create recurring calendar events.
• Pick contacts for meetings and events from the contact database using the quick contact search dialog.
• Pick dates and times using the easy date and time dialog.

Password Database

Java Contactor can store passwords in one convenient place and uses DES PKI encryption on the database to make sure that your list is secure. The Java Contactor password database can do all this and more:

• Merge your passwords at home and at work so that your passwords are always synced up using the merge wizard.
• Click on Internet URLS in the password database and automatically launch your web browser to go to the website.
• The Java Contactor stores the passwords on the disk in a secure DES PKI encryption format so that the passwords can only be read by the Java Contactor.
• Export the passwords in plain text format to store in a safe place in unencrypted format, or to merge with other instances of the Java Contactor.

Starting Java Contactor

Windows

Double-click the Java Contactor shortcut on the Desktop or from the start menu.

Mac OSX

Double click on the Java Contactor icon.

UNIX or Mac OSX

Execute contact2.0.sh from a shell.
